At least two killed and eight injured in shooting at South Carolina club

At least two people died and eight were injured during a shooting at a Greenville, South Carolina, club.

One police officer noticed a disturbance at the Lavish Lounge around 2 a.m. Sunday, heard gunshots, and called for emergency support. Once inside, authorities discovered several victims and were told others were being taken to a nearby hospital in personal vehicles.

No suspects have been arrested yet, but County Sheriff Hobart Lewis said there is an ongoing search for suspects who are “known gang members.” The police are searching for at least two people in connection with the shooting.

“There have been shootings here before, some fights here before and that kind of thing,” Lewis said.

When the shooting happened, a large crowd was gathered at the club for a concert in violation of the state’s current coronavirus order.

“We’re looking at getting their licenses revoked, alcohol license and business license,” Lewis added.
