Children’s book portrays Trump as racist school principal

Just in time for Christmas, author Beth Schaefer has released a new children’s book for adults that depicts Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump as a “weasel-haired” elementary school principal.

Told from the perspective of a second-grade student named Jewel, the 40-page book parodies Trump using his own quotes and imagines what his policy proposals would look like if instituted in an academic environment.

For example, Jewel begins to notice that her Hispanic classmates have suddenly disappeared from class — a play on Trump’s plan to deport 11 million illegal immigrants, many of whom hail from Mexico and Latin America, from the U.S., if he’s elected president.

“Something peculiar is happening in Room 110. Juanita and Gabriela and Jose stopped showing up,” Schaefer writes.

As the book goes on, “Principal Trump” rejects Jewel’s “free lunch ticket” — a jab at Trump’s criticism of the nation’s food stamp program — and mocks his penchant for younger women.

Each page also features a different illustration of Trump. One depicts him seated in a room decorated like the Oval Office, but embellished with the Confederate and Mexican flags, while another shows him sporting a “Mr. America” sash during a school assembly.

“My intention was to poke fun of Trump in a way that would amuse Democrats, Republicans and independent voters,” Schaefer, an adjunct communications professor at National Louis University, said in a press release announcing her book.

Paperback versions of Schaefer’s book, “Trump for Principal: A Children’s Book for American Grown-ups,” are available for $20 online.
