University creates special staircase because so many people are texting while walking

A sign of the times?

Utah Valley University, the state’s largest public university, has designated a special lane for people who text while walking up the stairs at the school’s student center.

The texting lane, put in place June 7, is supposed to teach students to pay attention to where they are going.

The school’s creative director, Matt Bambrough, told Time that is meant to be an art project, not an official school policy.  But “most people don’t obey the posted lanes” anyway, he said.

This is why people don’t like millennials.
