Musk denies alleged affair with Google co-founder’s wife

Elon Musk denied a report on Sunday that he had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX called the Wall Street Journal report “total bs,” and he called on the newspaper to run stories that “actually matter.” The report is the latest in a string of scandals that has plagued Musk since he announced his intention to purchase Twitter, a deal he is in the process of backing out of.

ELON MUSK ALLEGEDLY HAD AFFAIR WITH GOOGLE CO-FOUNDER’S WIFE: REPORT

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic,” Musk tweeted on Sunday.

The report on Sunday alleged that Musk, 51, had an affair with Shanahan at last year’s Art Basel festival in Miami, shortly after Musk’s split from his former girlfriend Grimes and while Brin and Shanahan were separated but still living together.

The alleged tryst ended a yearslong friendship between Brin and Musk, according to the report, which claimed Musk got on one knee at a party earlier this year to apologize and beg for forgiveness. Brin acknowledged the apology, but the two tech moguls no longer speak regularly to each other, according to the report. The report claimed Brin filed for divorce several weeks after learning of the affair.

Musk blasted the Wall Street Journal on Sunday for running the story, which he said is based on “third-party random hearsay.”

“WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid. WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay,” Musk tweeted on Sunday, adding that readers should “call them out on it.”

In a separate tweet on Sunday, Musk said the “character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year,” but he claimed that the uptick in salacious stories involving him are “all nothing-burgers.”

“I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans. None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!” Musk tweeted.

A recent Business Insider report found that Musk secretly had twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

In May, Business Insider also reported that a flight attendant received a $250,000 settlement from SpaceX over allegations that on a flight in 2016 Musk exposed his erect penis, rubbed the flight attendant’s leg without permission, and attempted to bribe the flight attendant into performing a sexual massage in exchange for a horse.

Musk denied the allegations, calling the story a “hit price [sic]” intended to “interfere with the Twitter acquisition.”

Musk warned prior to the release of the story alleging the encounter with the flight attendant that “political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months,” referencing his $44 billion attempted takeover of Twitter.

Musk gave notice earlier this month that he is seeking to terminate the acquisition, just three months after the deal was announced. The world’s richest man accused Twitter of misrepresenting the number of spam bots on its platform.
