Trump: ‘Crazy’ media wants war between the US and Russia

President Trump on Thursday accused the media of “going crazy” and publishing articles about him and his administration that are based on “fiction” and are published without any sources or proof.

“The Fake News Media is going Crazy! They make up stories without any backup, sources or proof. Many of the stories written about me, and the good people surrounding me, are total fiction,” Trump tweeted Thursday morning. “Problem is, when you complain you just give them more publicity. But I’ll complain anyway!”

In another tweet, Trump claimed the “fake news media” doesn’t like that he will “probably have a good relationship with Putin” because they want to see a U.S. confrontation with Russia.

“The Fake News Media wants so badly to see a major confrontation with Russia, even a confrontation that could lead to war,” Trump tweeted. “They are pushing so recklessly hard and hate the fact that I’ll probably have a good relationship with Putin. We are doing MUCH better than any other country!”

Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held their first bilateral meeting in Helsinki Monday.

During their joint press conference, Trump said that he did not believe that Russia interfered in U.S. elections, but later backtracked on his comments by claiming that he misspoke and meant to say he agreed with the intelligence community on their assessment that Russia meddled.
