A German man who masqueraded as an Iraqi general and other eccentric characters was sentenced Wednesday to 50 years in prison for the murder of his 91-year-old wife in Washington. Albrecht Muth was convicted in January of killing his wife, Viola Drath, a German writer and socialite. She was found dead in the couple's row home in Washington's posh Georgetown neighborhood in August 2011. (AP Photo/Washington Times, James R. Brantley)

FILE - This Jan. 8, 2014 file photo shows singer Chris Brown, right, arriving at the District of Columbia Superior Court in Washington. After a brief postponement, singer Chris Brown's trial on an assault charge is scheduled to begin in Washington. Brown's trial had been set for Monday but was delayed while lawyers tried to work out whether his bodyguard will testify. It's unclear whether the trial will start Wednesday, as Brown's lawyers seem to want, or if further legal maneuvering will delay it. (AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta, File)

FILE - This Jan. 8, 2014 file photo shows singer Chris Brown arriving at the District of Columbia Superior Court in Washington. Lawyers for Brown are headed back to court in Washington, but the Grammy winner won't be there. Brown's trial on a misdemeanor assault charge is currently set for April 17. On Monday, his lawyers and a government prosecutor will be in court for a motions hearing. Brown's lawyers have asked a judge to dismiss the case, saying prosecutors misused the grand jury process to prepare for trial. They also want certain statements Brown made suppressed. FILE - This Nov. 16, 2011 file photo shows law enforcement officers photographing a window at the White House in Washington, as seen from the South Lawn. A bullet hit an exterior window of the White House and was stopped by ballistic glass, the Secret Service said. An additional round of ammunition was found on the White House exterior. The bullets were found Tuesday morning. An Idaho man who pleaded guilty to shooting at and hitting the White House is set to be sentenced. Prosecutors say Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez should spend 27 years in prison for the 2011 shooting. His sentencing is scheduled for Monday afternoon. No one was injured, but prosecutors say Ortega-Hernandez hit the executive mansion about eight times and did nearly $100,000 in damage. (AP Photo/Haraz N. Ghanbari, File)
