An Ohio sheriff has offered to help celebrities leave the United States if President Trump wins a second term next month.
“Sheriff Jones would like to extend an invitation to put money towards a one-way ticket for any celebrity that would like to leave the country this time around if President Trump is re-elected,” the Butler County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook Tuesday.
“Hell, I’ll even help them pack,” Sheriff Richard K. Jones added.
Jones later posted a video regarding celebrities threatening to leave the country if Trump wins.
“These are mostly the same people who don’t like the police, that don’t like first responders,” the sheriff said. “I hope you do leave.”
“Maybe you can make a better life there in that country,” he said.
Several celebrities have threatened to leave if there’s another Trump win, including rock star Tommy Lee in an interview released last week.
“Dude, I swear to god if that happens then I’m coming over to visit the UK,” the Motley Crue drummer told the Big Issue in an interview. “I’m out of here. I’ll go back to my motherland, go back to go Greece and get a house on one of the islands.”
Jones’s statement comes after at least 20 celebrities suggested they would move to another country in 2016 if Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, including Whoopi Goldberg, Snoop Dogg, Miley Cyrus, George Lopez, and Amy Schumer.
