President Trump said Tuesday’s shooting in France is another example of why he will keep pushing Democrats to build a border wall and “strengthen our borders even more.”
“Another very bad terror attack in France,” Trump said on Twitter Wednesday. “We are going to strengthen our borders even more. Chuck and Nancy must give us the votes to get additional Border Security!”

On Tuesday, a gunman opened fire at a Christmas market in Strasbourg, France, killing three and injuring many others. The suspected shooter was injured in police confrontation, but remains at large.
Trump has criticized European countries for allowing an inflow of immigrants that he says has taken over Europe and led to terrorist attacks.
The president, alongside Vice President Mike Pence, met with Democrat leaders Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California and Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York on Tuesday, when they fought in front of the cameras about the $5 billion he’s seeking to build a border wall. Trump said during the meeting he would be “proud” to shut down the government if Democrats would not agree to his request.
On Wednesday, Trump said Democrats agreed to give the Obama administration billions more, even though they got nothing in return.
“The Democrats and President Obama gave Iran 150 Billion Dollars and got nothing, but they can’t give 5 Billion Dollars for National Security and a Wall?” Trump tweeted.
