Meghan Markle has secured her first official job after giving up royal life with her husband Prince Harry.
Disney announced on Thursday that the Duchess of Sussex will be narrating a documentary called Elephant, which focuses on a family of the large mammals as they travel over 1,000 miles, according to the Associated Press. The film is set to be released April 3 on Disney+.
The news comes months after she and Prince Harry announced in January that they were walking away from their stipend, benefits, and duties as members of Britain’s royal family to move to Canada and make a life for themselves. The decision appeared to catch the rest of the royal family by surprise.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” the couple said in a statement.
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen,” they continued. “It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.”
Since their departure, Prince Harry has engaged in talks with Goldman Sachs about potentially giving a speech as part of the investment bank’s YouTube series for employees.
