The Trump campaign sent a fundraising email to the president’s supporters urging them to “remind” Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York “and Democrats that this is our country, not theirs.”
The email, which was sent on Tuesday, came in response to Ocasio-Cortez arguing against the Electoral College in a video and thread she posted on social media last week.
“Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dialed up the crazy to a whole new level recently when she called for abolishing the Electoral College,” the email began. “She made it very clear that she thinks coastal liberals in New York and California should have all the power in this country and that Patriotic Americans across the Nation shouldn’t have a voice. Democrats have realized that the vast majority of Americans aren’t buying their big government SOCIALIST agenda.”

The email went on to say Trump is counting on his supporters to “remind AOC and Democrats that this is our country, not theirs,” and urged them to sign “the Official Protect the Electoral College Petition.”
The email was prompted by Ocasio-Cortez’s most recent attacks against the Electoral College in which she argued in favor of a popular vote.
I see Fox News is big mad about abolishing the electoral college.
So let’s talk about it.
1) If the GOP were the “silent majority” they claim, they wouldn’t be so scared of a popular vote.
They *know* they aren’t the majority. They rely on establishing minority rule for power.

“The Electoral College isn’t about fairness at all; it’s about empowering some voters over others,” she wrote in a series of tweets last week. “Every vote should be = in America, no matter who you are or where you come from. The right thing to do is establish a Popular Vote. & GOP will do everything they can to fight it.”
Also on Tuesday, the New York congresswoman retweeted a tweet from President Trump dating back to November 7, 2012 in which Trump tweeted, “The electoral college is a disaster for democracy.” Ocaiso-Cortez added, “I’m so glad the President and I agree that the Electoral College has got to go.”
