James Comey: ‘It’s not OK’ for Trump to lie

Former FBI Director James Comey said Friday that “it’s not OK” for President Trump to lie and attack the rule of law.

“What I hope people will do is not get caught down in the back and forth of Twitter personnel and personal conflicts but ask themselves what unites us in this country: the truth, the rule of law, equal protection of the laws. And it’s not OK for the POTUS to attack those things and to routinely lie, no matter what your politics, it’s just not OK,” Comey told CBS News Friday morning.

The hosts on CBS pointed out that some people are raising the same concerns about Comey that Comey is raising about Trump, both in his book and media interviews.

“People can say whatever they want,” Comey said, adding that he wants to help unite the country by asking questions about Americans’ values.
