Televangelist Pat Robertson congratulated over the weekend the young people that participated in the March for Our Lives Saturday who called for gun reform legislation.
“I congratulate these young people on taking a stand of this nature,” Robertson said on “The 700 Club” last weekend. “God bless ’em.”
Although Robertson said gun control wasn’t going to stop the violence, he was impressed by the effort of young people.
“It’s a good step forward in our democracy,” Robertson said.
In the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., last month, Robertson had voiced a support for a ban on so-called “assault weapons.”
Robertson’s congratulation of the young people who marched only accounted for about 10 percent of participants. The Washington Post released a study Wednesday that found the amount of those 18 and under who rallied March 24 was about 10 percent of the thousands of participants.
