Three people found dead in Fairfax apartment were part of ‘suicide pact’

The three people found dead from gunshot wounds inside a Fairfax County apartment earlier this week had formed a “suicide pact,” according to evidence gathered by police.

Fairfax police are investigating the deaths as a double murder-suicide after two adult females and one adult male were found dead inside a barricaded room on Tuesday. The male shot and killed the two women before committing suicide, initial police reports indicate.

Officials identified the two females as 26-year-old Angelica McIntosh and 31-year-old Anne Lollar. Police have not yet determined the identity of the male but believe he may be 26-year-old Jose Gale Aliaga. Officials will conduct an autopsy to confirm his identity.

All three lived inside the apartment with one other roommate, who is cooperating with the investigation. The roommate is not considered a person of interest, police said.

Police responded to the scene around 10:31 a.m. on Tuesday for a welfare check after receiving calls from one resident’s family members, according to Fairfax County Executive Deputy Police Chief Brian Reilly. When officers arrived, the resident’s female roommate let police into the apartment to go to the back bedroom, which was locked from the inside.

The Fairfax County Fire Department was called to the scene to look inside the bedroom window from an outside balcony, and responders reported they could see what appeared to be three dead bodies inside the room, Reilly said. Police then forced their way into the bedroom, finding that the door and window had been barricaded shut.

Police are still investigating the incident to determine a motive.
