President Trump denied the allegations made in John Bolton’s book and claimed his former national security adviser is “disgruntled.”
“Wacko John Bolton’s ‘exceedingly tedious’ (New York Times) book is made up of lies & fake stories. Said all good about me, in print, until the day I fired him. A disgruntled boring fool who only wanted to go to war,” he tweeted just after midnight Thursday. “Never had a clue, was ostracized & happily dumped. What a dope!”

In a later tweet, Trump called Bolton’s book “pure fiction” and said that it had received “terrible reviews” from those who have critiqued it.
“Bolton’s book, which is getting terrible reviews, is a compilation of lies and made up stories, all intended to make me look bad. Many of the ridiculous statements he attributes to me were never made, pure fiction. Just trying to get even for firing him like the sick puppy he is!” he wrote.

Bolton made several allegations about Trump in his new book, The Room Where It Happened. He alleged that Trump spoke to Chinese leader Xi Jinping about recruiting China’s help in the 2020 election. He also claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin thinks he can play Trump “like a fiddle.”
The Department of Justice has filed for a restraining order against Bolton and his publisher, Simon & Schuster, to stop the book from being widely released despite several newsrooms, including the Washington Examiner, obtaining copies. The Justice Department alleged that national security secrets are included in the book and argued that it must not be released to the public.
Trump on Wednesday slammed Bolton as a “washed-up guy” who “broke the law.”
