The existential crisis facing this country is not rooted in politics. The crisis is in this country is ultimately a complete lack of respect for another human being.

President Donald Trump’s decision to speak at March for Life provides hope for the unborn child. This is the first time in history for a U.S. president to attend this annual pro-life event.

Regarding the Jan. 13 article “Not just a regional conflict: U.S. won’t allow China to invade Taiwan, lawmaker says” by Joel Gehrke, Taiwan’s presidential and legislative elections came to a smooth and peaceful conclusion on January 11. Democratic and Republican presidents and their parties in the past 40 years outsourced millions of American jobs and know-how to China particularly, Asia generally, and to Mexico in the pursuit of maximum corporate profits. Those administrations also got us into unnecessary wars, with body bags returning non-stop to the U.S. Both political parties were complicit in encouraging illegal immigration. The human psyche is accosted by various desires and emotional impulses---anger, lust, greed, envy, appetite, work avoidance, etc---which, if not subdued, result in negative outcomes for individual and/or society.
Elijah Cummings should retire
Recently, Rep. Cummings, whose district is in Baltimore, Maryland, and President Trump have had at it. Inter alia, while Cummings has called Trump racist and insensitive, Trump has implied the representative is a poster person for corruption and a politician who has been enriching himself at the expense of his constituents, the "enriching" part with good reason, since much money has gone to Cummings' district to clean and de-squalidize it, and no good results have surfaced.
