Rep. Al Green ejected after holding up ‘black people aren’t apes’ sign at Trump
From Molly Parks

Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was ejected from the House chamber after holding up a sign that read “Black people aren’t apes” during Trump’s State of the Union address.
The Texas Democrat was booted within the first 15 minutes of the event after he showed the handmade sign to Trump as he entered the chamber. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) ripped the sign from Green’s hands as he flashed it toward the president, but Green continued to show the sign to the chamber floor before he was escorted out.
Green was also ejected from Trump’s joint address to Congress last year after shouting, “He has no mandate.”

The sign comes weeks after Trump posted, then deleted, a racist trope video on his Truth Social platform that portrayed former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama as gorillas. The White House said the video was “erroneously” posted by a staffer.
Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) and Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) also spoke with Green as they tried to get him to remove the sign, but Green refused.
