Impeachment whistleblower Alex Vindman invited to State of the Union by brother
From David Zimmermann
Alex Vindman, a key figure in Trump’s first impeachment, has been invited to the State of the Union by none other than his brother who currently serves in the House.
Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA) announced his guest on Monday.
“As a 25-year Army veteran, I was taught that our oath is to the Constitution, not to a political party or a president,” the congressman said in a statement. “Bringing Alex as my guest is about honoring the principle that no one is above the law.
“At a time when democratic norms and accountability are under pressure, his service and courage represent the best of our country,” he said. “His presence at the State of the Union is a reminder that constitutional duty and accountability are not partisan values, they are American values.”
Alex Vindman is currently running as a Democrat for a U.S. Senate seat in Florida. He is 1 of 3 Democrats seeking to succeed incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) this year.
