Beyonce publicly threw her weight behind Harris during a Friday evening rally in Houston, Texas.
“It’s time to sing a new song,” the singer said as she introduced Harris to the stage. “Our moment right now, it’s time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing a song of dignity and opportunity.”
“Are y’all ready to add your voice to the new American song?” Beyonce exclaimed as her hit song “Freedom” began to blare over the loudspeakers and Harris came striding on stage. “Freedom” has served as Harris’s unofficial campaign anthem through the presidential election cycle.
