Biden speaks to Trump after assassination attempt

    The White House said President Biden spoke with former President Donald Trump on Saturday evening after a shooting at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that left Trump injured. The Secret Service says the former president is safe.

    No further details were provided on the call.

    Biden is expected to have a briefing with homeland security and law enforcement officials at the White House on Sunday morning.
