Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) defeated her five other competitors in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District primary on Tuesday night.
The Associated Press called the race for Boebert at 9:22 p.m., only 22 minutes after the polls closed. She won the primary with 44.3% at the time the race was called. Her closest competitor, Deborah Flora, received 15.3% of the vote.
Boebert declined to run for reelection in her current 3rd District after polling showed her race would be a “toss-up” with her as the leading Republican candidate. When she swapped to the 4th District, the 3rd District shifted to “lean Republican.”
The Democratic challenger has not yet been selected for the 4th District, though Boebert is favored to win in the solid-red district that was held by former GOP Rep. Ken Buck until he retired in March.
