Ex-Washington Post executive editor calls publisher’s decision not to endorse ‘cowardice’

    Former Washington Post Executive Editor Martin Baron slammed the newspaper’s decision not to offer an endorsement in the 2024 presidential election.

    “This is cowardice, with democracy as its casualty,” Baron posted on X. “@realdonaldtrump will see this as an invitation to further intimidate owner @jeffbezos (and others). Disturbing spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.”

    Baron led the Washington Post from 2013 until 2021.
