CHICAGO — A group of pro-Gaza protesters breached the outside northern security perimeter at the Democratic National Convention on Monday evening.

The group, assembled by the Coalition to March on the DNC, started their day in Union Park just blocks away from the United Center, where President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver the DNC’s Monday keynote address later tonight.

The protest had been permitted to move along the northern side of the United Center’s secure perimeter, but a small group appeared to break off and bring down an outer layer of the fencing.

Riot police quickly responded to the scene, and at least one individual was arrested.
