Harris wrapped up her concession speech to supporters at Howard University, saying she is hopeful the country is not heading toward a “dark time.”
“I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case,” Harris said.
She also said the “light of optimism faith, truth, and service” will guide the country, “even in the face of setbacks toward the extraordinary promise of the United States of America.”
