Vance jokes about Trump’s physique comments: ‘I’m not going to talk about Jon Husted’s a**’

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Vice President JD Vance declined to follow in President Donald Trump’s footsteps by commenting on Sen. Jon Husted’s (R-OH) football player physique.
“Now, this is a tough act to follow, ladies and gentlemen, because what could I possibly say about John Huston that Donald J. Trump has not already said?” Vance asked a crowd at the Sharonville Convention Center. “Don’t worry, I’m not. I’m not talking about Jon Husted’s a**. I’m not talking about that.”
Instead, Vance underscored Husted’s short record in Congress after he replaced the vice president in the Senate in January 2026.
“Over the last two years, in less than a third of a Senate term, Jon Husted has gotten more done than most United States senators get done in 10 years in Washington, D.C.,” Vance said.
Trump has complimented Husted’s physique on multiple occasions as he campaigns for the senator in his margin-of-error race against Democratic nominee, former Sen. Sherrod Brown.
“I looked at his a**, and then I looked at his legs, and my — I said, ‘His a** is like, it’s like a pile of muscle.’ Then I looked at his legs, and I said, ‘Man, his feet are big,’” the president said in North Carolina on Tuesday. “Then I looked at his shoulders, and I tapped him on the shoulder, and it actually hurt my hand. It was like a piece of steel. I said, ‘This guy’s a monster.'”
