A South Carolina judge ruled that the voter registrations of 1,900 teenagers won’t be addressed in time for Election Day.

The judge ruled against the lawsuit filed by the ACLU, stating it was too close to Election Day to add the young voters to the rolls.

The issue arose after the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles failed to send the teenagers’ voter registrations to the elections board. At the time the teenagers registered to vote, they were 17, but they will be 18 by Election Day.
