Maria Cantwell gains Republican Senate challenger

    Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) will face Republican Raul Garcia in the November general election after both candidates won in a top-two primary against nine other opponents.

    Cantwell received 59.7% of the vote compared to Garcia’s 20.5% at the time the Associated Press called the race at 11:10 p.m. Eastern time. The other nine challengers did not reach double-digits.
