Milei arrives at hotel ahead of UN General Assembly speech and meeting with Trump

Argentine President Javier Milei is in New York City for the U.N. General Assembly, where he will give a speech later Tuesday.

He is expected to meet with Trump after the meeting. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Monday the U.S. is ready to help Argentina, which is reeling from a market selloff.

“We remain confident that President [Milei]’s support for fiscal discipline and pro-growth reforms are necessary to break Argentina’s long history of decline,” Bessent said.
