Patel agreed with Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) that the “Epstein Estate” holds relevant information on the case.

Lieu said during the House hearing that the estate disclosed to lawmakers an alleged birthday note from Trump to Epstein and suggested that it might have further information to relay to Congress. His comment led Patel to say, “You raise a great point,” while suggesting the estate might be under no legal obligation to release files to the public, even with a subpoena.

“You’re the freaking FBI. You can subpoena information from the estate, and you better do that literally,” Lieu replied.
