Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE) won his Senate race against Democrat Preston Love Jr.

Ricketts won with 45.7% of the vote to Love’s 54.3% with 29% of the vote in. The Associated Press called the race at 9:00 p.m. While Ricketts is currently trailing, the outlet has based its projection partly on exit polling conducted by the outlet.

Ricketts previously was Nebraska’s governor before being appointed last year by Gov. Jim Pillen (R-NE) to finish former Republican Sen. Ben Sasse’s term.
