Republican Senate Candidate for Pennsylvania Dave McCormick addressed the crowd gathered at PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh on Monday night in advance of former President Donald Trump making his final plea for the 2024 election.
McCormick quipped that when Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) was first elected to the Senate, the Macarena was the most popular song on the charts. Casey has represented the Keystone State for 18 years.
“Someone said to me the other day, are you running for the Casey seat? I said hell no, I’m not running for the Casey seat. He’s not entitled to this seat because his dad was governor. He’s not entitled because he’s been there 18 years,” said McCormick. “This is the people’s seat.”
According to the RealClearPolitics averages, Casey is up about 2% over McCormick.
