A blaring siren plagued the beginning of Harris’s speech at the Ellipse.

A continuous siren could be heard in the opening minutes of Harris’s speech. It is unclear what the source of the siren was, though a pro-Palestinian demonstration was taking place close by.

After several minutes, the siren stopped.

The noise was noted by several commentators online.

Somewhat later, sirens of a different type could again be heard.
