Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) is addressing the Democratic National Convention on its third night. He was selected by Vice President Kamala Harris to be her running mate Aug. 6.
Walz has continued to introduce himself to voters since then, with tonight being his most anticipated event. He was first elected the House of Representatives in 2006, and has been governor since 2018. His record in the national guard has been criticized, since it was revealed he did not follow the proper process to retire, and shortly after he did, his artillery unit was sent deployed.
