Premarket trading as of Wednesday morning shows a sharp drop in Trump Media shares, down 10%. Recently, share levels have been mirroring Wall Street’s feelings about former President Donald Trump’s election chances, and after last night’s debate, it looks like those feelings are not positive.
Trump Media stock has been trending downward since the company went public in March. It’s now standing at about 70% of its original trading value. Trump, who owns a majority of the company’s shares, has lost about $4 billion of stock value in the last few months.
The drop is a response to Trump’s performance at the ABC News debate against Kamala Harris. While many, including Trump, have criticized moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis for being unbalanced in their fact-checking, most agree that Harris came out on top after the debate, regardless of the moderators.
