Trump to meet with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE leaders during UN General Assembly

During President Donald Trump’s trip to New York City for the United Nations General Assembly, he will hold a multilateral meeting with leaders from Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.

The meeting comes after the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia recognized a Palestinian state over the weekend. Hamas has also said it sent the United States a proposal for the return of half of the remaining hostages in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the meeting ahead of Trump’s departure on Monday evening. He will be giving a highly anticipated speech on Tuesday morning.

“Tomorrow morning, President Trump will deliver a major speech touting the renewal of American strength around the world [and] his historic accomplishments in just eight months, including the ending of seven global wars and conflicts,” Leavitt said. “The president will also touch upon how globalist institutions have significantly decayed the world order, and he will articulate his straightforward and constructive vision for the world.”
