Trump has signed his highly anticipated TikTok executive order that would permit the social media app to continue operating in the U.S. for 75 days and potentially beyond if it becomes at least half-owned by American investors.

In an impromptu question and answer session with reporters as he signed more executive actions, Trump described the order as providing him with “the right to sell it or close it.”

“We may have to get an approval from China, too. If they don’t approve it, it may be somewhat of a hostile act,” he said.

When pressed on why he changed his mind regarding TikTok after also expressing national concerns, Trump replied it was “because I got to use it.”

“Remember, TikTok is largely about kids,” he said. “Young kids. If China is gonna get information about young kids, I don’t know — to be honest with you, I think we have bigger problems than that.”
