Walz stumbled through an answer about whether his position on abolishing the Electoral College is the same as that of the Harris-Walz campaign.

“Well, it’s not the campaign’s position, and the point I’m trying to make is that there’s folks that feel every vote must count in every state, and I think some folks feel that’s not the case,” Walz said during an interview with Good Morning America that will air in full Friday.

“Their position and my position is to make sure that everybody understands their vote, no matter what state they’re in, matters,” he added.

When pressed on whether Walz and Harris disagree, Walz said, “The campaign and my position is the campaign’s position.”

The questions came after Walz pushed for the Electoral College to be abolished during a Tuesday fundraiser. A Harris spokesperson later said his position was not the position of the campaign.
