The Associated Press said the organization would not call the state’s Senate or presidential race until at least Thursday.

AP estimated late Wednesday evening that there are more than 200,000 ballots left to count in Nevada — including more than 130,000 in Clark County,” the outlet said. “Given the narrow margins in the races for president and U.S. Senate, both are too early to call.”

Trump leads Harris 51.5% to 46.7%, and Senate candidate Sam Brown leads Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) 47.3% to 47.1%.

Republican Abraham Hamadeh has been elected to represent Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.

Hamadeh had 55.7% of the vote to Democrat Gregory Whitten’s 44.3% when the Associated Press called the race at 8:58 p.m. with 67% of the vote in.

The Republican’s win came as little suprise given the Cook Political Report rated the race “Solid Republican.” Hamadeh had the endorsements of Trump and Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) have announced their reelection bids to their respective posts following the 2024 elections.

Johnson and Scalise both released statements as votes are still being counted and the House is still undecided. Both celebrated Trump’s victory in their letters while highlighting their respective ambitions. Both also expressed confidence in retaining the GOP House majority, which would form a Republican trifecta as the party has taken control of the Senate, too.

House control, as of Wednesday evening, sits at 205 Republicans and 190 Democrats with many races set to be called, and 218 is needed for a majority.

Biden called Harris a “tremendous partner,” saying his decision to make Harris his running mate was the “best decision I made,” following her concession speech at Howard University Wednesday afternoon.

“What America saw today was the Kamala Harris I know and deeply admire,” Biden said in a statement. “She’s been a tremendous partner and public servant full of integrity, courage, and character.”

“As I’ve said before, selecting Kamala was the very first decision I made when I became the nominee for president in 2020,” Biden added. “It was the best decision I made. Her story represents the best of America’s story. And as she made clear today, I have no doubt that she’ll continue writing that story.”

Harris lost to Trump in a historic defeat on Tuesday, becoming the first Democrat to lose the popular vote since John Kerry in 2004.

Trump flipped Walz’s home county of Blue Earth after Biden won it in 2020.

Trump won 18,002 votes, 50%, while Harris won 17,588, 48%. Walz’s family lived in the county for 20 years.

Walz was partially chosen due to his believed small-town appeal and folksy demeanor. Nearly all small town counties saw a major rightward shift in 2024 from 2020.

Harris and Walz won solid blue Minnesota by just 4 points.

The Obamas congratulated Trump and Vance on their victory.

“Over the last few weeks and through Election Day, millions of Americans cast their votes not just for president, but for leaders at every level,” their statement read. “Now the results are in, and we want to congratulate President Trump and Senator Vance on their victory.”

They acknowledged that the results were “obviously not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues.”

“But living in a democracy is about recognizing that our point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power,” the statement added.

The couple blamed the loss on the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation, saying, “Those conditions have created headwinds for democratic incumbents around the world, and last night showed that America is not immune.”

Within the past hour, the Associated Press called Maine’s two at-large electoral votes for Harris and Alaska’s three electoral votes for Trump.

IT had previously called Maine’s 1st Congressional District for Harris and the state’s 2nd Congressional District for Trump. Alaska’s hotly contested at-large House race remains uncalled by the Associated Press.

With those two state calls, only Nevada and Arizona have yet to be called in the presidential election. Trump is leading Harris in both states.

Trump clinched a victory in the presidential race early Wednesday morning, when the Associated Press called Wisconsin for the former, and now future, president. In the Electoral College count, Trump leads Harris, 295-226.

“I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case,” Harris said.

Harris comforted disappointed supporters by telling them it will be OK after her loss to Trump in the presidential election.

“To the young people who are watching, it is OK to feel sad and disappointed, but please know it’s going to be OK. On the campaign, I would often say, when we fight, we win, but here’s the thing, here’s the thing: Sometimes, the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win,” Harris said.

She also encouraged supporters “to organize, to mobilize, and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together.”

Harris asked her supporters to accept the results of the 2024 presidential election, which saw her lose in a landslide against Trump.

“I know folks are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now. I get it, but we must accept the results of this election,” Harris said in her concession speech at Howard University on Wednesday. “Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”

Harris went on to say that as a nation, “we owe loyalty not to a president or a party but to the Constitution of the United States and loyalty to our conscience and to our God.” She added that her “allegiance to all three is why I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.”
