Trump signs first executive order in front of crowd, rescinding 78 Biden executive orders

Trump signed the first executive order of his presidency, rescinding 78 Biden executive orders and other laws.
His aide announced that he was signing an executive order marking the “rescission of 78 Biden era executive actions, executive orders, presidential memoranda and others.” It’s unclear which Biden-era orders are included.
Trump sat at a desk set up with a stack of executive orders prepared, with crowds cheering the signing of every document.

Trump performed his famous “YMCA” dance at an inaugural ball after cutting a cake with a sword.
Speaking to military members after his first dance with Melania after being inaugurated, the president vowed to rebuild the military. A soldier lent him and Vance a sword, which they used to cut an elaborate cake.
After the first cut, “YMCA” began playing. Gripping the sword as if ready for battle, Trump began performing his version of the “YMCA” dance, pumping his fists.

Melania and Usha drew praise for their fashion senses at the Commander in Chief inaugural ball.
Melania wore a white dress with a black strip running through it, forming a “Z” on her torso.
Usha wore a dress with several different shades of blue imposed over one another, sparkling under the light.
The president and vice president wore tuxedos.

Donald and Melania Trump shared their first post-inaugural dance at the Commander in Chief Ball on Monday night.
The two entered on a raised stage, surrounded by supporters, and danced to “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
They were soon joined by Vice President J.D. Vance and Usha Vance.
Afterward, four military service members entered and danced with the four.

A medical emergency occurred during Trump’s Liberty Ball on Monday night, and country singer Jason Aldean flagged that someone needed help.
While the band kept playing at first, paramedics soon arrived to render aid to the person.
Trump is expected to attend at least two balls on Monday night, including the Commander in Chief Ball.

One of Trump’s inaugural balls on Monday night was packed with attendees, with lines stretched far and not enough seats for everyone in attendance.
At the Liberty Ball, there were two golf simulators, cutouts of Trump’s famous appearance at McDonald’s, and much more. Trump is expected to attend at least two balls on Monday night.
Country music singer Jason Aldean is performing.

Trump signs executive order to withdraw US from WHO

Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the U.S. from the WHO.
“World Health ripped us off,” Trump said. “Everybody rips off the United States. And that’s it, it’s not going to happen anymore.”
It is the second time that Trump has attempted to withdraw the U.S. from the organization, and comes after he clashed with the WHO over its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump said 25% tariffs against Canada and Mexico will go into effect Feb 1

Trump said that he expects 25% tariffs to be put in place against Mexico and Canada effective Feb. 1.
“We’re thinking in terms of 25% on Mexico and Canada because they’re allowing vast numbers of people” across the border, Trump said, saying that Canada specifically was a “very bad abuser.”
He cited the large amount of fentanyl crossing the border as well.
“I think Feb. 1,” he said when asked when the tariffs would come into effect.

Elon Musk will not get an office in the West Wing of the White House, Trump said on Monday while signing a slew of executive orders.
“He’s getting an office for about 20 people that we’re hiring to make sure these get implemented,” Trump said regarding the executive orders and Musk’s stewardship of the Department of Government Efficiency.

Trump said that he will meet with Putin “soon.”
The president also said that he would seek to end the War in Ukraine “as quickly as possible.”
“It should never have started. You know, the war with Ukraine and Russia should have never started. It would have never started,” if he were president at the time, he added.

Trump has pardoned approximately 1,500 Jan. 6 Capitol rioters and issued six commutations in some of his first actions as the 47th president of the United States.
“These are the hostages,” he said while signing the documents in the Oval Office.
Trump campaigned on pardoning the Jan. 6 rioters throughout the 2024 cycle. Speculation has mounted about whether the pardons will extend to those who had been convicted of attacking Capitol police officers.

Trump signed an executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship.
The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship for everyone born on American soil, setting up a heated battle in the courts. The United States is among the 33 countries to guarantee citizenship upon birth in the country.
“We’re the only country in the world that does this with birthright, as you know, absolutely ridiculous,” Trump said.

Trump has arrived at the White House where he is expected to sign a series of executive orders and pardon some of the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters.
Trump signed the first round of executive orders of his second term at Capital One Arena in front of a crowd of his supporters. Among the first executive orders included the rescinding of 78 Biden executive orders, and ordering that all federal workers return to the office full-time.
