Just how bad are things for the Democrats? In an Oct. 19 appearance on Larry King Live, Secretary of State Warren Christopher and Sen. Chris Dodd, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, discussed Bosnia and American race relations. The show starring this less than dynamic duo would have been forgettable, except for a DNC memo faxed to “Democratic Activists” a few hours before it aired. “It would be extremely helpful to get some positive calls into the show tonight,” the memo pleaded. “We are trying to emphasize the positive role the Clinton Administration has played in dealing with this difficult foreign policy conflict, as well as other accomplishments in the administration.
