They continued to work while the spin doctors stayed home: A hundred or so waitresses who work for the Hooters restaurant chain came to picket the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to protest the EEOC’s finding that the chain’s refusal to hire Hooters guys, and deck them out in short shorts and truncated T-shirts, constituted sex discrimination. A Reuters story on the protest ended on this plaintive note: “No one was available at the EEOC for comment since the office was closed as part of the government shutdown.,,
