Conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch is urging former President Donald Trump to focus on the future, not the 2020 election.
Murdoch, the executive chairman of News Corp, told employees it’s “crucial” conservatives play an “active, forceful role” in the current U.S. political discourse, which “will not happen” if Trump “stays focused on the past.”
“The past is the past, and the country is now in a contest to define the future,” he said.

Murdoch also accused Facebook and Google of censoring conservative speech.
“There is no doubt that Facebook employees try to silence conservative voices and a quick Google search on most contemporary topics often reveals a similar pattern of selectivity — or to be blunt, censorship,” he continued.
Despite assurances from officials that the 2020 presidential election was secure, Trump has frequently repeated claims of voter fraud. The former president reiterated these remarks most recently in an interview with Mike Lindell, telling the MyPillow CEO that the corruption and “disloyalty” surrounding him carried into the “rigged” 2020 election.
“I was very disappointed, as you were, as millions of people were,” he said. “I think I read 78% of one of our great parties felt that the election was rigged and stolen, and it was rigged.”

The Trump campaign spearheaded several efforts to overturn the election results, the majority of which were tossed by the courts.
Many on the Right still harbor anger toward Fox News, one of News Corp’s subsidiaries, for its handling of the 2020 election, particularly its decision to project that President Joe Biden won Arizona long before many other outlets made the call.
