Biden: Trump called Baltimore a ‘rat-infected, rodent mess’

Presidential front-runner Joe Biden incorrectly recalled President Trump’s remarks last week, claiming that the president called Baltimore a “rat-infected, rodent mess.”

Biden was delivering a speech on Wednesday from Burlington, Iowa, ahead of a visit to the Iowa State Fair. “He called American, a major American center-city, a disgusting rat-infected rodent mess,” Biden said. “No human being, he [Trump] said, would choose to live … as though the vibrant diverse community around Baltimore was somehow less than human.”

His remarks referred to Trump’s tweet last week that Baltimore was a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” while chiding Democratic Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings for caring more about illegal immigrants than his own constituents in Baltimore. Both the crime rate of Baltimore and its rat population are among the highest in the nation.

Biden’s remarks on Wednesday also criticized Trump calling the migrant caravans an “invasion” at the southern border, as well as the president’s assertion that gang members would “carve you up with a knife.”

The president criticized Biden’s speech for being “boring” in a tweet moments later.

“Watching Sleepy Joe Biden making a speech. Sooo Boring! The LameStream Media will die in the ratings and clicks with this guy. It will be over for them, not to mention the fact that our Country will do poorly with him. It will be one big crash, but at least China will be happy!”
