President Trump bemoaned China’s role in the coronavirus pandemic and said he is growing more upset with the country as the global health crisis wears on.
“As I watch the Pandemic spread its ugly face all across the world, including the tremendous damage it has done to the USA, I become more and more angry at China. People can see it, and I can feel it!” Trump said in a Tuesday evening tweet.

The tweet comes as coronavirus cases continue a resurgence in the United States since the country began to reopen. Several states have placed pauses on their reopening schedules, and some states have begun shutting back down to varying degrees in an effort to stop hospitals from becoming overwhelmed.
The coronavirus first emerged in central China late last year. Trump and U.S. officials have repeatedly accused the Chinese government of covering up the scope of the health crisis at the outset and not providing clear information about its potential to become a pandemic.
As of Tuesday evening, the U.S. has had more than 2.6 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, resulting in at least 127,258 deaths, according to the latest tally by Johns Hopkins University.
On Monday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey shut down his state’s gyms, clubs, movie theaters, water parks, and bars as cases in the Sun Belt surge. That comes after both Florida and Texas ended on-premise consumption of alcohol, thus shuttering bars. The U.S. leads the world in most confirmed cases, and the European Union, which has far lower per capita infection levels, is banning U.S. travelers when the bloc reopens.
