Chef out at Virginia governor’s mansion

RICHMOND — The chef to Gov. Bob McDonnell and the first family at Virginia’s Executive Mansion has left the job after two years. Chef Todd Schneider’s departure comes amid a State Police investigation into allegations of what the agency said Friday were “improprieties involving the kitchen operation at the governor’s mansion.” No charges have been filed or arrests made in connection with the inquiry. McDonnell’s office refused to say whether Schneider resigned or was dismissed. — AP
