Donald Trump is a “dirty old man” and was not committing a youthful indiscretion during his lewd conversation with TV host Billy Bush in 2005. That’s what Bill Kristol told CNN’s Jake Tapper Friday afternoon in response to the released audio of that conversation, which featured the future Republican nominee discussing in vulgar terms how he can “do anything” with women when you’re a “star.”
“He’s a dirty old man,” said Kristol, who added that Republican leaders like House speaker Paul Ryan and Trump’s running mate Mike Pence should be asked what they think of these comments. (Watch the first part of the CNN segment here.)
THE WEEKLY STANDARD has asked Ryan’s office for comment about the revelations, as well as for clarification about whether the Republican congressman still plans to join Trump onstage at a joint campaign event in Wisconsin this Saturday. That request has not yet been returned.
