The Foundation Fighting Blindness is offering a unique dinner event to raise funds to benefit sight-saving research. Its Third Annual Northern Virginia Dining in the Dark at the Ritz-Carlton on Dec. 15 starts at 6 p.m. with a one-hour reception, then dinner and awards from 7 until 9:30. For 30 minutes, guests will be dining in complete darkness, enjoying their entree using only their senses of smell, taste, touch and hearing so they can get some insight into the lives of the blind.
