Jan. 1: New Year’s Day 5K, Gaithersburg, 10 a.m. The race starts at Philbin’s Family Fitness & Athletic Training Center on Gaither Road. Info: mcrrc.org.
Jan. 1: Rotary Resolution Run, Leesburg, 10:25 a.m. The 10K will lead runners through the hills of the Morven Park Estate, while the 4K run/walk will take participants to the park mansion. Info: runwashington.com. Jan. 2: Brats Frozen 5K, Manassas, 9 a.m. The race, for those who want to recover from New Year’s Eve for a day before racing, will take runners three miles on a flat course. TRACK Jan. 3: Indoor track meet, Arlington, 7:30 a.m. The meet is open to anyone and will feature events ranging from race walking to 200-, 400- and 800-meter runs.
