A man has been charged with second-degree murder in an October homicide in Southeast Washington.
Vernon McRae, 22, of Southeast D.C., is accused of assaulting 63-year-old Michael Washington on the 1600 block of Morris Road SE at about 10 p.m. on October 26.
D.C. police said Washington was taken to a hospital for treatment of head trauma and died from his injuries Nov. 1.
McRae is in custody pending a Nov. 15 preliminary hearing.
