The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that one of its employees tested positive for the coronavirus.
“This individual is in good condition and is isolated to prevent spread of infection to others,” a CDC spokesperson said Monday. “Staff working in the same unit are teleworking while we do a deep cleaning of the office space.”

The employee was not involved in coronavirus response efforts and was not exhibiting symptoms just over a week ago. He or she took the diagnostic test in a CDC lab and “took the appropriate action and stayed home.”
The agency said it will not disclose the name of the employee diagnosed with the virus.
The Trump administration said Monday that individuals who are sick should quarantine themselves with their whole household and asked that social gatherings be limited to just 10 people.
“If everyone makes this change, or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally as one nation, and we will defeat the virus,” President Trump said at the White House.
