A library intended for at-risk pre-schoolers will open a few blocks north of Logan Circle.
The Homewood Books for Kids Library, located in the E.C. Mazique Parent Child Center, will be stocked with new books, reading programs, and other educational tools to further early literacy skills. The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1719 13th St. NW.
The library was borne from a partnership between Homewood Suites by Hilton and early childhood education advocacy group Books for Kids, which has focused on transforming unused, existing spaces in low-income neighborhoods into learning centers.
